Hays writes contemporary mysteries about a divorced soccer mom who’s trying to figure out just where God fits into a life full of kids and career. She also collaborated with her daughter Meg to create her latest book, Toto’s Tale, which tells the story of The Wizard of Oz from Toto’s point of view. K.D. Hays is the alter ego of author Kate Dolan. While Kate writes a variety of historical fiction and non-fiction and volunteers as a living historian, K. D. Hays spends her time riding roller coasters and water slides with her kids. Both authors studied English, history and drama at Catholic University in Washington, DC., earned a law degree at the University of Richmond, and currently live in a suburb of Baltimore where they coach jump rope and manage a menagerie of dogs, anoles and one very destructive rabbit.
